![]() ![]() Or at least stay out of a potentially useful thread for others. Seriously, if you want to harm your fellow Diabetics continue trolling. If you did why wouldn’t you share that instead of picking a fight by trolling? Question: did you use the exact formula on the bottles every day for the test? Or did you experiment? Did you vigorously track other factors that might be in play on a daily basis, such as stress or other hormone fluctuations? If you didn't then your feedback is useful within those bounds. They just resign themselves to poor health because you had no positive reaction to Niacin and CP. But maybe you're right and folks should ignore trying to use their brains and experiment a little bit to see what helps them. And Niacin/CP can sometimes dramatically help with those. There are a lot of challenges around Diabetes, and blood Sugar management in general, including very serious challenges with cholesterol, inflammation and circulation issues. ![]() Best practices change and generally are shared in patient communities before doctors latch onto them with vigor, and even then they can be wrong. It's almost as dumb as the medical community's "high carb diet is good for diabetics" plan of a generation ago. And considering there are a lot of controversial forums, that's saying something. "The real proof of "improvement" is your a1c - a test for diabetics that shows how much glucose your body absorbed during the prior three months." <- that's the only metric you want to use to track your diabetic health? Then that is the dumbest thing I've read on curezone. Interesting that I could only note the direct effects after stabilizing my system and removing other reasons my body would spazz out into heart palps etc. Now too I can clearly tell I get depressed for a day or two after (dose dependent). All of that happens in a few for a few hours. I knew that stuff before, but I can now clearly tell that I get heart palps from it too (maybe left side bloating setting it off?). Recently I've noticed when I do, my GI issues are cranked, my left side is *really* bloated and hard to breathe. I was mostly gluten free but would have stuff from time to time. Oh, with all the improved health I'm noticing effects of individual things a bit easier. And as high cortisol folks we're likely to have high cholesterol too. <- article from 1980 : Wish I had known that years ago!Īnd, of course, those together *really* reduce cholesterol in a lot of folks. "Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) is synthesized in vivo from absorbed dietary chromium, and acts as a physiological enhancer of insulin activity, binding to insulin and potentiating its action about three-fold." Chromium GTF is a brand name of supplement but generally it's used for the term. Zinc in combo with Niacin and Chromium are what the body uses for putting energy from the blood into the cells. *Key lesson: Chromium seems really important for those of us with insulin resistance but "standard" routine isn't working for me. Even 2 or 3 might kill me I think by dropping my blood Sugar too critically low. I find it strange as others seem to be able to take between 200mcg (one capsule) and 1000 mcg (5). I know I haven't mastered it yet, but it's very powerful and good. Like I said it's been a struggle to figure out CP. (Not doses are in MICROGRAMS not milligrams) When using it I definitely cannot do a true low carb diet as that would crash me too. It really does help, but if I take a bit too much I crash really bad for the day. That means a bit more than a 1/3rd of a capsule with meals. For now, I've started taking it in the mornings and at lunch. The chromium picolinate was really hard for me to figure out. This is a huge win in itself and for other reasons of resting/healing/energy. If I've had sugars or booze the night I may wake up with some jitters but they are greatly reduced. * Key lesson: I sleep well on niacin, and wake up without am jitters. I only take it at night as it does knock one out to a degree. ![]() ![]() Less than 350 and I don't feel the effects. 450 let's say and I'd be "badly sunburnt". When I take it I sleep well, lots of dreams, and wake up feeling good, although somewhat dopey. I've stabilized on about 350mg of Niacin every other night. Two months ago, I promised to update on Niacin / Chromium Picolinate. I hope you're enjoying the lovely summertime (if you're in the North). ![]()
